Nelson’s Summer of Learning initiative is designed to draw students from across the continent.

Imagine the impact 500 people from across western Canada and the northwestern USA will have on Nelson when they stay in the city for six weeks this summer. Think of how festivals, galleries, and restaurants will benefit. This vision drives the Nelson Community Campus Alliance (NCCA)’s new Summer of Learning initiative, explains Barry Auliffe, Director of the Kootenay School of the Arts (KSA). He expects the roster of over 130 summer courses to attract hundreds of temporary residents to Nelson in the first year alone.
